FAQ
THE MOST-ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT ELECTROSTATIC PAINTING - WHAT IS ELECTROSTATIC PAINTING?
It is a special, on-site paint process in which the paint is attracted
to the metal by static electricity.
- WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Virtually
no overspray. Factory-like finish. Cost Effective. Done on-site, overnight with little interruption of your business. The
paint dries to the touch an about an hour and is ready for use the next morning. Considered a maintenance expense - not a
capital expenditure.
- WHAT TYPE OF PAINT IS USED AND WHY?
On
inside applications we use a 2-part polyamide epoxy that offers durability, Impact and mar resistance, and has superior adhesion.
On outside applications we use a 2-part poly urethane.
- ARE THERE PAINT
ODORS?
Yes, But it is not harmful. We come in and paint after normal business
hours. We do require air ventilation systems to be left on. In some cases, we can provide special methods to reduce and help
eliminate the natural odor of paint.
- IS AEPI PROPERLY INSURED?
Yes. Although it's rare, we are human and mistakes can happen. When an accident
does occur, we resolve the problem. Certificates of Insurance are readily available to our customers.
- MUST WE EMPTY FILES AND DRAWERS?
No, unless files
and /or desks are to be painted inside and out. In some cases, we request the top two drawers of tall lateral files be emptied
for safety reasons. We do ask our customers to remove everything from the top of items to be painted and to leave them unlocked.
This allows us to edge the top and sides of drawers. The customer must inform us of the location of computer and electronic
equipment so we can protect them from static electricity.
- WILL THE PAINT
FINISH CHIP?
Any painted surface can chip. With a little common sense and care, your paint finish should last
for years.
- DO YOU STAND BEHIND YOUR WORK?
Yes! We offer a quality product, and will redo any problems related to our preparation, application and coating
material.
